An impressive church building...
Designed by the archbishop of Paris, Maurice de Sully, and built from 1163 to 1345, Notre Dame cathedral is one of the finest examples of Gothic art in the world.
Surrounded by the Seine river, this stunning building sits on the Ile de la Cité and looks like it is floating on the river. You can start your visit on the famous forecourt and admire the beautiful facades.
Then head inside and contemplate the sumptuous rose windows, superbly decorated stained glass windows and utopic sculptures by Viollet-le-Duc in the 19th century.
